Big changes are taking place at Science World.
The building was covered in scaffolding and the science centre is undergoing a $35 million renewal – the biggest in Science World’s history!
• Expanding the exhibition and education space - So that we can be even more inspired in an additional 14,000 sq ft of gallery space, including views of False Creek. School groups will also benefit from new labs and programming space!
• Expanding the lobby - For our added comfort when entering the building.
• Developing a covered outdoor lunch area - So we can eat outside in the shade and even on drizzly days.
• Making the building more environmentally sustainable - Because they care about the preservation of this historic icon and the environment.

However, prior to significant upgrading of building systems and the envelope, it was important to consider the current and future needs of the organization and to plan the location of additions and deletions to the building program areas.
